HPL
had designed and built many prestigious
Institutional buildings. These comprise
Schools, Colleges, Training Centres, Hospitals,
Office Complexes and Airport Terminal
Buildings. All projects have been completed
in record time and have superior finishes.
Two 5-star hotels in New Delhi bear testimony
to HPL’s seals of quality. One was
built on a frame precast in HPL’s
factory, and the second carries structural
elements and facades supplied by HPL.
The building of the flagship hotel of
the Oberoi Group of Hotels in New Delhi
needs no introduction. This is one of
the earlier examples of HPL’s expertise.
The entire frame of this Hotel building
along with the facades were manufactured
in HPL’s Jangpura factory and erected
in record time. The building has the most
lavish of all finishes and is a much sought
after accommodation by foreign tourists.
Totally
precast buildings supported on a precast
frame were constructed by HPL way back
in 1962 to minimise the cost of construction
and save time. All these buildings, some
housing, some central government offices
in New Delhi have stood the test of time.
The accuracy of HPL’s work is well
appreciated amongst the engineering community
of Delhi.
Buildings and International landmarks
such as Hotel Ashok in Chanakyapuri, New
Delhi were built with elements manufactured
in HPL’s factory. In the recent
past, HPL has also built schools and Hostels
for the Navodya Vidayalya Samiti. The
flagship building for the Employees Provident
Fund Organisation in New Delhi is yet
another testimony to HPL’s expertise.
The National Academy for Training and
Research in Social Security (NATRSS) is
a training centre with class rooms, auditorium,
offices, lecture theatres, hostel block,
health club, swimming pool and underground
parking with a total covered area of 7200
sq. meters. The building has Dholpur stone
exterior cladding and superior grade interior
finishes.
HPL
has contributed significantly by introducing
prefabrication in a big way in the construction
of office complexes in Delhi in early
sixties.
HPL has also developed indigenous technology
in the field of design, manufacturing
as also construction of complete/partially
prefabricated structures.
The methods
evolved were best suited to the local conditions
of relative low cost of inputs.
The NATRSS Building constructed on behalf
of Employees Provident Fund Organisation
is an example where aesthetics & utility
form a perfect blend. The project cost was
INR 62.4 Million and the covered area is
7116 sq. m.
