Various studies made time and again have proved that Prestressed Concrete structures are more economical than steel structures. To serve its clients better, HPL developed a series of designs for precast prefab factory structures which were used by its clients to save construction cost.

The life cycle costing of a precast concrete structure is also economical as compared to a steel structure which needs continuous maintenance to protect it from the elements.
The Urea Bagging Plant and Bag Storage Building for National Fertilizers Ltd. at Bhatinda, Punjab shown in the picture is a case in point. 10,000 sqm of area was covered with various precast RCC components which proved cheaper than a comparable steel structure. 21,000 sqm of area was covered in the factory for Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd. (BHEL) also a Govt. of India Enterprise at Jhansi (U.P.)

Large spans of 24 meters were tackled by prestressed components. Not only did these prove more aesthetic, the cost was also lesser by 22% as compared to erecting a steel structure.

Another benefit of these structures is that they require very little or no maintenance costs as compared to steel structures which requires regular costs of paint to keep them rust free.

The Scooter India Ltd. factory at Lucknow was also built with prestressed concrete components. Similar economy during construction and in recurring maintenance costs has been confirmed by other clients. The quality of workmanship in concrete is definitely better than that of a steel structure as can be seen in the pictures.

HPL was awarded the work of construction of Training Institute Complex at Sonepur Bazari Project (World Bank aided project) Dist. Burdwan, West Bengal at a total cost of INR 57.46 Million in Feb. 93.

The work comprised detailed engineering of the structure and services and the construction of the complex on a turn-key basis.

HPL is a self-contained company possessing adequate capabilities of design, manufacture and assembly at site. It undertakes turnkey projects of large magnitudes and employs innovative techniques during construction phases, thus making its project work more economical.
